Do You Have The Courage To Break Through?

This is truly one of my most favorite subjects to teach and to talk about. I have spent a great many years as a student of the incredible possibilities and experiencing next level after next level myself.  So I personally know what it takes and how to do it.    I have done it in business, in prosperity and in sport.

This has everything to do with your success in client attraction!  Everything!

Have you ever felt as if you were meant to achieve much higher levels and much bigger greatness than where you are now? Have you had dreams of who you could be and where you could be that seem so far away now that they are but very faint and feel ridiculously out of reach?

BUT….sometimes, on a good day, do you feel as if that next level is just within reach? BUT…do you have the courage to go up and grab that next level?  That’s the big question.  Most people don’t.  Most people stop right there and say oh I don’t know how or I don’t deserve it.

The truth is for each and every one of us it is just within reach and you WILL need courage to grab it and reach it! And that’s where most people stop because that kind of courage is hard for most to muster.  However, if they truly knew just how close it is they might be more courageous.

I know because I have done it a great many times personally and I have witnessed it so many times with so many people that I can not even count them at this point.

When you feel that twinge that there is something just right out of your reach on the next level then it IS there. However, you will need the courage to go and get it.

A quest does not come without discomfort. A journey does not come without some challenges and if you back down as soon as you are presented with a challenge then you won’t like this answer…then you don’t deserve what’s on the other side.

It has a lot to do with being uncomfortable for a little while. I am sure you have heard that before.  But let me give you some specific examples.

You are going to have to be willing to be out of your comfort zone. Do some things that are new to you and some things that you have “never” done before.  For example, in client attraction you may have to change the language you use to be more personal instead of institutional.  You would be surprised how many advisors say great I can do that and then when it comes time to implement they don’t go all the way.  Therefore their results don’t go all the way.

Here’s another example, telling the world who you specialize in working with and exactly what you do for them AND putting in an asset level!  Pfew…you would be surprised how many advisors chicken out and do a watered down version which will get them know where new!

So many people just stay within in the perimeter of their comfort zone. That is not how you are going to get your next level or your breakthrough….you must stretch!!

You must venture outside of the comfort zone into places you have not experienced yet. Now, let me explain that there is a difference between doing things you “don’t like” doing and doing things that are a stretch.  You must balance it.  However, if you just stay within what is familiar you won’t reach too much higher.

I have experienced this first hand a great many times. After a while it becomes easier to stretch.  It’s just like a muscle.   When you stretch it consistently then it will be become more flexible and healthier.

I have developed a habit of continually asking myself if there is some way I can stretch. I ask myself if there is some way that I can stretch beyond where I currently am or beyond what is familiar and comfortable.  I do the same in my sport.  As I train in golf, I ask myself where am I most uncomfortable?  AND then I concentrate on it for a while…..AND wow amazing things start to happen.

I have seen advisors who continually fall back into old habits and old prospecting methods that don’t work. They do this because they are comfortable there even though they know it doesn’t work.  The pull to stay in the comfort zone is just that strong!

Here’s a little secret. The advisors who continue to press forward out of their comfort zone gain BIG prosperity faster than even they dreamed.  I can tell you this because I have seen it and been a part of it a great many times.  It is an amazing thing to be a part of.

I have seen so many advisors with opportunities right in front of them…but they don’t see them because they are either blinded by stress or not used to being even just a little uncomfortable.

My advice and wisdom for you is to stretch. Find places in your business and in your life that you can stretch.  Do a little at a time but keep it going.  Make a list of all the possibilities in what and where you can stretch.

Look at that list and then ask yourself on “each” one if it is really a stretch or just something you have put off for a while.  I truly must be outside of your comfort zone and you can feel a slight twinge that you know it will make a difference.

With just a little bit of being uncomfortable the payoff is BIG! I know you know this deep down.  So now it’s time to own it and take responsibility for it.  Go for it!
